The groundbreaking for the new John C. Bohach Elementary School was conducted today in Sparks, Nevada. The school is named for Reno Police Officer John Bohach who was killed in the line of duty in August, 2001. Speakers at the event included Officer Bohach’s daughter Lindsey Bohach Sadler, Reno Police Chief Jason Soto and Washoe County School District Interim Superintendent Kristen McNeill.

The below news article documents the monumental work that these three businesses donated toward refurbishing and installing the plaques on the memorial wall. What is not mentioned in the article is the additional work donated by Nevada Drywall Stucco & Stone and Amundson Roofing in refinishing and capping the memorial wall. This work had already been completed before KRNV began filming their piece. We also wish to recognize the efforts of local businessman J.P. Pinocchio for assisting in and organizing these projects.
